Texas Global Services' address will take place on Friday, November 6, and cover nearshoring and the practical use of AI in freight operations.
COLLEGE STATION, TX, September 25, 2026 -- Texas Global Services, a Houston-based, woman-owned freight forwarder, will present to a Texas A&M University supply chain logistics class this Friday, covering two of the industry's most pressing shifts: the rise of nearshoring and the practical use of artificial intelligence in freight operations.

President and cofounder Diana Stinson, a 22-year industry veteran, will discuss how nearshoring is reshaping sourcing and routing decisions for U.S. importers. Can you afford nearshoring — or can you afford not to? Cofounder John Stinson will present the tools he built with AI to bring Texas Global Services into a new age, showing how staying lean and treating technology as a competitive strength can outperform larger, slower-moving competitors. Students will get a look inside Lorenzo, the company's in-house AI system — built on an 8-billion-parameter Llama model and run locally to keep customer data secure and fully under the company's control.
"Nearshoring isn't a trend anymore, it's a redesign of how freight actually moves," said Diana Stinson, President of Texas Global Services.
“It is as if the software is apparently free now and the application is up to me,” said John Stinson.
Texas Global Services was selected to speak based on its hands-on approach to both supply chain strategy and freight technology, offering students a rare look at how a small, independent forwarder operates and can be leveraged versus a 3PL or larger forwarder. The company's team, which includes Global Shipping Specialist Leslie Danaher, reflects that same lean, hands-on model — a small group handling freight with the speed and technology edge combined with better communication and service giving you that personal small company feel.

CEBU, Philippines — Does the Marcos family have something against video games? I ask simply because the father and the son seem to have a knack for banning them during their respective presidential terms. The Philippine government has been mulling over banning certain video games and related platforms. Why? That’s because they have been cited

One thing Shin Jeong-ok, a team leader at a McDonald’s restaurant in Seoul’s Seongbuk District, enjoys about her job is being looked up to by friends and acquaintances in their 60s and older. In Korea, where the population is rapidly aging, seniors face increasingly fierce competition for employment as they outnumber younger job seekers. As of this year, more than 11 million people in Korea, or 21.6 percent of the population, are aged 60 or older. Many are baby boomers born between 1955 and 1963, a generation larger than those that came before them. Now entering retirement, they are increasingly seeking jobs, but age-related health issues and physical limitations restrict their employment options. Fortunately for Shin, her current job title is a hard-earned position she began in her early 50s. Now, the 63-year-old says she cannot imagine a life without working five times a week at McDonald’s Jongam SK branch in northern Seoul. “When I tell my neighbors or friends that I work at McDonald’s, I see the envy in their eyes. Being able to say that I have a job and seeing their admira
