When asked to comment, Sasser said, “Virtual CFOs are an expense that many business owners don’t even consider, however, an virtual CFO can help grow your business and save money in three main ways.”
1.) Provide Resources
One of the biggest advantages to hiring a virtual CFO, according to Sasser, is that it allows small business to have the resources only typically available to larger companies.
“Full-time CFOs can cost quite a lot and can be an expense that is out of reach for many small business owners. When clients come to me, I’m able to give them a full-time CFO experience at less than a part-time cost,” she said.
Sasser can also act as a consultant as she has the expertise of working for big companies, something that she can pass onto her clients.
When asked to elaborate, Sasser said, “If a business owner is looking to make a proposal to a larger company, and they need numbers to back up the pitch, I can guide them in approaching the project and pitch to increase their chances of securing a contract.”
2.) Reduce Tax Liability
Another crucial reason to hire an virtual CFO is to minimize tax liability.
“While a tax accountant plugs the numbers that you provide onto a tax return, an virtual CFO is the one who provides those numbers and ensures that they are accurate and optimized in terms of reducing tax exposure,” Sasser said.
A virtual CFO can also help structure the business financially to help maximize a company’s tax system to benefit the business owner.
When asked to elaborate, Sasser commented, “One of the most important ways we do this is by ensuring that all a company’s inventory costs are properly captured to increase tax savings.”
She added that having a robust financial system in place will protect against penalties in case of an audit by the IRS.
3.) Secure Financial Information
Virtual CFOs can also provide vital financial information about the company.
“A common problem among small businesses is that owners don’t look at the entire financial picture in pricing their products to break even or to make a profit. As an virtual CFO, I can break down these financial components and advise accordingly,” Sasser added.
“We take this information a step further and set up an accounting system that properly tracks manufacturing, fixed, and overhead costs. Ultimately, this will help business owners make future financial decisions that can put more money in their pocket,” she added.

Sales of winter products surged at South Korean convenience stores as temperatures fell sharply this month, industry sources said Friday. Sales of tights, worn to keep warm, increased by a similar margin. SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won said Friday his business group will make efforts to build a new semiconductor cluster in the southwestern part of the country as quickly as possible to meet growing global demand. Chey made the remarks during a visit to Gwangju Air Base in the southwestern Jeonnam-Gwangju region, where SK hynix Inc. has proposed building a new chip cluster. "Once the conditions are met, we plan to build (the new cluster) as quickly as possible," Chey said. "Demand for chips is growing rapidly, and the current situation requires us to accelerate the pace of supply to keep up with demand," he added. The chairman said the group still needs to determine when construction will begin but stressed that it intends to break ground as soon as possible. Chey noted that demand for chips is expected to grow significantly, adding that the proposed cluster will be around two-thirds the size of the one currently under construction in Yongin, just south of Seoul. It marked Chey's first visit to the region since the conglomerate unveiled its building plan in June. Earlier in the year, SK hynix
