For many in Korea, the end of a major holiday means back to business — literally. In the days immediately following a major festive break, job seekers across the country launch into an intense hunt for their next career move, according to data released Monday by the hiring platform JobKorea, operated by Worxphere. Looking at resume postings and job applications around the last two years of Chuseok and Seollal — Korea's autumn harvest and Lunar New Year holidays, both multiday breaks when many workers return to hometowns — JobKorea found new resume registrations consistently spike on the first Monday after each holiday. The sharpest jump came after Chuseok 2024, when resume postings on Sept. 23 that year more than doubled the average weekday rate, and ran about 3.7 times the average daily rate during the holiday itself. Similar patterns followed: resume postings rose 46 percent above the weekday average on Feb. 3, 2025, the Monday after that year's Seollal; 20 percent after Chuseok 2025; and 29 percent after Seollal 2026. Job applications followed the same pattern, peaking on the fi

In Indonesia, the real test for digital finance is no longer whether people can pay with their phones in Jakarta malls. It is whether the same tools can work reliably for a food seller in Makassar, a small retailer in Solo, or a family-run business in a Tier 3 city that still relies heavily on […] The post 01F Group backs DANA as Indonesia’s digital payments race enters its next phase appeared first on e27.
For decades, productivity in finance meant closing the books faster, reducing transaction costs and improving reporting. Artificial intelligence changes that equation, because it can do more than execute routine work. It can interpret variances, detect anomalies, generate forecasts, test scenarios and recommend actions. This creates enormous capacity, but capacity is not the same as value. When Chinese artificial intelligence developers want to train their next-generation frontier models, they all face the same daunting wall: they cannot legally buy the world’s most powerful AI chips. However, the country’s tech giants and start-ups have still managed to quietly keep pace with global rivals. Their secret is an elusive workaround: moving heavy training workloads across borders through the cloud. By setting up proxy entities in foreign jurisdictions, domestic firms have for years...
A company can spend months collecting sustainability data, mapping risks and preparing a polished report, yet still fail to answer a fundamental business question: what should we do differently because of what we have learned? Apocalyptic warnings about the danger of uncontrolled artificial intelligence are adding new urgency to talks between President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping set for next week. Trump has dismissed AI’s existential threats as a “hoax” — a view that analysts say aligns with China’s general perspective. Intense competition for primacy and mutual distrust have...

There are two big tech-centric events that are being talked about today. The first and more obvious one is Pax Silica. The second is the upcoming listing of GCash into the local stock market. Although these two events are by themselves a big deal on their own merit, I would not have framed them to
