ECS has received a series of industry accolades while launching a new suite of interconnected OT services and technology for UK manufacturers.
Wetherby, England, October 5, 2026 -- Enhanced Control Solutions (ECS), a Yorkshire-based engineering and industrial technology company, has marked a major period of innovation and growth after being named a finalist at the 2026 Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Industry Awards.
ECS was shortlisted in the Manufacturing and Technological Innovation category for its work modernising OT support for food manufacturing. The category included major industrial technology companies, with Siemens ultimately taking home the award.
For ECS, the recognition represents a significant milestone. The independent Yorkshire engineering business was shortlisted in the same national innovation category as global technology company Siemens, demonstrating the scale of ambition behind ECS's approach to modernising OT support for UK manufacturers.
The FDF recognition follows a series of accolades for ECS, including:
The recognition also coincides with the relaunch of the ECS website and the development of three interconnected OT services designed to help manufacturers better understand, manage and support the technology operating across their sites.
Capture is ECS's on-site OT audit service. ECS engineers attend manufacturing sites to identify and audit smart and intelligent devices, establishing a structured picture of the site's OT assets.
Command Centre is ECS's OT asset management platform. Information gathered through Capture can be stored and maintained within Command Centre, creating a central record of a manufacturer's OT estate and providing a foundation for ongoing OT asset management.
Connect provides 24/7/365 remote OT engineering support, giving manufacturers access to specialist engineering expertise when problems occur and helping reduce the delays associated with waiting for engineering support to reach site.
Together, the services create a joined-up approach to OT management: Capture helps manufacturers understand what they have, Command Centre helps them manage it, and Connect provides the engineering support to keep it running.

James McCartney, Founder of Enhanced Control Solutions, said:
"To find ourselves shortlisted alongside businesses such as Siemens is a huge milestone for ECS, but what's particularly encouraging is that this isn't one award or one organisation recognising what we're doing.
"Capture, Command Centre and Connect have all been developed around problems we've experienced first-hand as engineers working in manufacturing. Our approach is simple: understand what you've got, manage it properly and make sure the right engineering support is there when you need it.
"We're still a relatively small Yorkshire engineering business, so to see our work recognised across food and drink, manufacturing, innovation and business growth gives us confidence we're heading in the right direction."
The launches and industry recognition mark the latest stage in ECS's development from an engineering services business into a growing engineering technology company developing its own solutions for industrial OT.

In November, ASEAN leaders are scheduled to sign the Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), the first region-wide pact written specifically for the digital economy. Negotiators closed the text in Manila in May, and ASEAN’s own statement puts the prize at up to US$2 trillion in digital economy value by 2030 if the agreement is implemented […] The post Stop calling Southeast Asia an emerging market in mobile. For the past three years, much of the AI debate inside Southeast Asia’s engineering teams has centred on a familiar question: which model is best? Founders, CTOs and developers compared GPT-4, Claude, Codex, Cursor and open-weight models on code completion, documentation, debugging and speed. For many startups, the first wave of AI developer adoption meant […] The post Why Southeast Asia’s AI coding race is moving from models to infrastructure appeared first on e27.
Bitcoin rose 1.81 per cent to US$86,350.24 in 24 hours, slightly outperforming the broader market, which gained 1.45 per cent. The move looks modest on the surface. Underneath, two forces drove the gain. Renewed spot ETF demand and a softer macro backdrop gave the largest cryptocurrency a firmer floor. A short squeeze then amplified the […] The post Bitcoin jumped 1.81% to US$86,350.24. Is this a real breakout or a short squeeze? appeared first on e27.
In my work with organisations, I often hear people describe barely adjusting to one restructure before the next one begins. The remark is usually made in passing, which tells you something on its own. Progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Sunday backed Pope Lepo XIV’s call to prioritize art made by humans over that made by artificial intelligence (AI). “Pope Leo is right. In February 2023, the budget shopping platform Temu announced itself on the world stage in the brashest way possible: becoming one of the youngest ever brands to buy a Super Bowl advertising spot. “Download the Temu app and shop like a billionaire,” a voice proclaimed in the 30-second commercial, as a woman danced on screen and ordered a series of outlandishly cheap items: from a US$8.99 dress to a US$4.99 wig. The commercial – which aired twice during the game, costing Temu an estimated US$14...
The months after a funding round can make a company look dramatically stronger. Revenue rises. The team grows. New markets open. Customer logos multiply. A wave of account takeover attacks involving artificial intelligence (AI) against major banks is testing their defenses and putting personal cybersecurity in the spotlight. Shinhan Bank disclosed Thursday that the information of about 25,000 people had been leaked. A day later, KB Kookmin Bank and Hana Bank confirmed breaches affecting 119 and 89 people, respectively. Woori Bank and NH NongHyup Bank also reported suspected hacking attempts. The incidents have raised suspicions that AI was used to automate the attacks. Consumers have little control over breaches within companies. But the steps they take afterward can go a long way toward preventing exposed login details from putting their other financial and shopping accounts at risk. Security experts say two measures can substantially reduce the risk of account compromise — using a unique password for each service and enabling multifactor authentication. A key danger following a leak is credential stuffing. This involves using automated software to test usernames and passwords stolen from one platform across numerous others, from banki
