Woolroom US Sales Rise 53% in July as Consumers Reconsider Wool’s Natural Cooling Properties

Sep 3, 2026

Strong demand for cooling, lightweight comforters, mattress pads and protective bedding signals a shift in how Americans view wool bedding

Oakham, United Kingdom, September 3, 2026 -- Woolroom, a sleep and home textiles brand specializing in traceable wool bedding, has announced a 53% year-over-year increase in US sales after expanding into the US market. Woolroom launched its US-based website in 2018 and has been building North American demand for wool bedding ever since.

This growth challenges the common misconception that wool bedding is exclusively for cold weather, highlighting how Woolroom is reeducating consumers about wool’s natural cooling properties. “Our July performance points to an increasing consumer awareness of wool as a naturally adaptable fiber for better sleep,” said Chris Tattersall, Woolroom’s Managing Director.

Woolroom has helped change the perception of wool through breathable, moisture-managing products that help consumers create comfortable sleep environments across changing temperatures.

Sales growth was especially strong in the bedding categories associated with cooler, more comfortable summer sleep. Overall bedding sales rose 49% year over year, while mattress sales grew 59%, bedlinen sales increased 82%, and throws and blanket sales rose 104%. Standouts in the bedding category include the Deluxe Light Comforter (up 97%), the Deluxe All Season Comforter (up 96%), and Woolroom’s collection of Lightweight Duvets (up 87%).

“Consumers have traditionally associated wool with warmth, but that is only part of the story,” said Tattersall. “Our recent study with Bangor University shows how wool fiber performs better for sleep over down, synthetic, and feather alternatives.”

Woolroom has worked for years to show that wool is an exceptionally responsive natural fiber. Its ability to manage moisture and help regulate temperature means it can support a more balanced, comfortable night’s sleep, even during the hottest days of summer. Woolroom’s July sales indicate that more people are beginning to understand that better sleep is not about simply choosing the lightest possible bedding, but about choosing materials that adapt to the sleeper and the environment.

Woolroom offers a wide range of bedding and linen options, including comforters, pillows, sheets and mattresses. Its products are designed to handle rising temperatures and improve sleep quality year-round, regardless of the season or weather.

“July is the ultimate test of whether a sleep product can truly perform in warmer conditions,” Tattersall explained. “The outstanding sales of our light comforters, mattress pads and protectors are particularly meaningful because they demonstrate real consumer confidence in wool’s cooling credentials.”

As consumers continue to seek alternatives to synthetic, mass-produced bedding, Woolroom’s recent sales growth underscores growing interest in its natural-fiber sleep products.
