Vivian Sweatt of Sweatt Realty Brings Her General Contractor Knowledge to Alamance County Home Sales

Oct 2, 2026

North Carolina, United States, October 2, 2026 -- Vivian Sweatt, broker and owner of Sweatt Realty, has practiced residential real estate in Alamance County, North Carolina since 2004, working in both English and Spanish and holding a North Carolina general contractor license she uses on behalf of the people she represents.

Vivian Sweattis the broker and ownerof Sweatt Realty,a residential real estate firm in Alamance County, North Carolina, where she has lived since the age of four. She has worked in real estate since 2004 and holds the GRI, PSA, SFR, HFR, AHWD, GREEN, SRS and ABR designations. She practices in both English and Spanish. She is also a licensed North Carolina general contractor, and she pursued that license for a specificreason: it allowsher to put contractor expertise at the disposal of her clients at no cost to them.

That expertise is advisory rather than hands on. Vivian does not carry out construction work herself. She uses the license to advise on repairs and renovations and to coordinate a team of subcontractors on a client'sbehalf, and it does two distinct jobs. During the due diligence period she negotiates repairs directly, with the standing of someone licensed to judge what the work actually involves rather than relaying a figure from a third party. For sellers preparing to go to market, she subcontracts the work needed to get a property ready to list. Neither service carries a charge.

The same principle runs through the rest of what Sweatt Realty provides.Moving trucks and packing supplies are available at no cost, and they make a real difference to anyone handling a move themselves. A dumpster service supports sellers clearing a property or preparing it for market. Professional staging is offered for vacant homes, where an empty interior gives buyers little to respond to. None of these are billed separately, and taken together they are the practical expression of how Vivian thinks the job should be done.

She is fluent in English and Spanish and handles transactions in either language. For anyone more comfortable in Spanish, that means the paperwork and the explanation of it come from the same person rather than passing through a third party, at the points in a transaction where precision matters most.

Her workinglife has run on overlapping tracks rather than in sequence. She sold insurance from 1995 to 2009, entered real estate in 2004 while that work continued, and owned AlamanceParty Rentals from 2009 to 2016 alongside her real estate practice. She also owns Better Homes and Rentals of NC. She has lived in Alamance County since she was four and graduated from Williams High School in 1992, and she holds horticulture and culinary degrees from Alamance Community College.

Asked what she wants people to take away from working with her, she puts it plainly. "I have always been a customer service giver," she said. "I give from the heart and make sure every transaction gets hand holding for those who need it." That applies as readily to experienced buyers and sellers, who get the benefit of her experience and her thoroughness, as it does to anyone moving for the first time. She is the mother of two adult childrenand grandmother to four grandsons.

Being accessible and communicating clearlyare the two things she treats as non negotiable, and the services the firm absorbs follow from the same instinct. As Alamance County continues to grow and change, Sweatt Realty remains a homegrown firm run by someone who has lived in the county since childhood, holds the license to judge the condition of the houses she lists, and works in the language her clients prefer.

Singapore’s AI dividend will depend on what happens after the pilot phase

Singapore’s early bet on artificial intelligence could give its economy a modest but meaningful lift as population ageing starts to bite. But the real test will not be how many companies say they use AI. It will be whether they can rebuild work around it. The ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) said in its annual […] The post Singapore’s AI dividend will depend on what happens after the pilot phase appeared first on e27.

Ecosystem Roundup: MoneyHero’s activist wants a sale, but Richard Li holds the votes

Jonathan Honig, who owns about 9% of MoneyHero’s Class A shares, wants the Nasdaq-listed comparison platform sold. His open letter asks the board to hire an independent adviser and explore a sale before a 5 October deadline. Trump’s 'self-policing' AI accord faces skepticism

The signing of an AI accord by President Trump and tech leaders has done little to quell concerns over the lack of guardrails surrounding artificial intelligence.  While Trump says industry officials can self-police, critics say more is needed to make sure AI development doesn’t get out of hand, even as some described it as a...

China’s AI compute ambitions demand innovation

China has set a five-year goal for the expansion of intelligent computing capacity to drive artificial intelligence (AI) that calls for a more than fourfold increase on what was in place at the end of June this year. To reach the 2030 target while being blocked by the United States from importing the most advanced Western-made AI chips will require innovation, adaptation and the application and coordination of vast resources. Judging by the 177 per cent increase in capacity achieved in the year...

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries wins contract for 500-MW offshore substation in Taean

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has signed a contract to build an offshore substation for a wind farm in waters off Taean, South Chungcheong Province, as it expands its presence in the offshore wind market. The company announced on Friday that it recently signed a contract with Taean Wind Power to carry out the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of an offshore substation for the wind farm. Taean Wind Power is a joint venture between Singapore-based renewable energy company Vena Energy, Danish investment and development firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and state-run Korea Western Power. An offshore substation is a key facility that transmits electricity generated by turbines at an offshore wind farm to shore. The offshore substation to be built in Taean will step up the voltage of electricity generated by a 500-megawatt wind farm before transmitting the power to shore. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries secured the project through a series of agreements, signing a front-end engineering design contract in March, followed by a preferred supplier agreement

Genetically modified organism (GMO) components were detected in 99.3 percent of U.S. soybean import cases tested over the past decade, trade data showed Friday, raising calls for Korea to diversify its soybean import sources. Canadian soybeans were imported in 45 shipments totaling 29,469 tons, with GMO components detected in 57.8 percent of the cases. In contrast, no GMO components were detected in soybeans imported from China or Russia. Chinese soybeans totaled 112,124 tons in 18 shipments, accounting for 6.4 percent of total imports, while Russian soybeans totaled 7,870 tons across five shipments. The data came amid recent controversies over GMO detection in soybean-based foods such as tofu, soy milk and fermented soybean pa

Upbit adds AI tools that explain crypto price moves

Dunamu, the operator of Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, said Friday that it expanded its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered market analytics platform with real-time tools that summarize broad market trends and pinpoint the reasons behind price movements for individual digital assets. Upbit Data Lab, launched in April 2025, is the exchange's analytics platform offering crypto indexes, sector data and blockchain analysis. The new "AI Market Report" is a video of 90 seconds or less that draws on the Upbit composite index, major asset prices, top gainers and losers, and market sentiment indicators, with AI selecting key issues based on price moves and market impact. It is released at 10 a.m. on weekdays on Upbit Data Lab and Upbit's official YouTube channel. A second new service, "Uptrace," tracks price data and related news for individual assets to identify the main factors behind price changes. Users can click diamond-shaped icons on an asset's chart to see the AI analysis and related news for that point in time. Dunamu also reorganized its existing "AI News Briefing" in

The advice gap: Why VCs don’t practice what they preach

Walk into any pitch meeting, attend any LP conference, or read any VC blog, and you’ll be handed the same well-worn gospel: build diverse teams, move fast, be transparent, hire for culture, flatten hierarchies, and always be learning. This is the catechism of the modern venture capitalist, wisdom dispensed freely, with conviction, to the founders […] The post The advice gap: Why VCs don’t practice what they preach appeared first on e27.
