Two Newly Graduates Got New Building Contract of an Aesthetic Clinic

Ang Mo Kio, Singapore - It was a great start for two newly graduated architecture students from the International University of Construction. Just three months after graduation and without even taking up the licensure examinations, Henry Xi and Devon Wang have landed their first jobs as the contractor for the new building of Healthsprings Laser & Aesthetic Clinic. The two is yet to undergo on-the-job training for two years before they will be allowed to take up the licensure examinations.

This is a breakthrough according to the University’s Dean of the College of Architecture. In an interview with Alibaba Printing, Dean James Key said that “those two were among our top students. However, since they do not have the license yet, they are required by the law to be under a licensed architect. They approached me and asked if I will be their mentor and guide once again, and I agreed. This project is their project and I’m just here because the law obliges us. But the whole floor plan was theirs, I was just here to confirm that they are doing it correctly.”

The Chamber of Architecture was also surprised with their client’s preference. It is not usual for clients as big as them to trust “unlicensed architects”. “Technically, these two aren’t architects, but just mere architecture graduates. However, the client believes in them and they want them badly.” The interest of the clients started after the two won the Annual Architecture Students Conference last year. Their winning piece is a model for a 7-storey hospital, which is what they will be doing for the aesthetic clinic. You may view their plan perspective at http://www.healthsprings.com.sg/. Sarawak is not usually the first place that comes to mind when Southeast Asia’s artificial intelligence race is discussed. Singapore has the region’s densest cloud and startup ecosystem, Malaysia’s Johor has been drawing data centre investment because of its proximity to Singapore, and Indonesia has been positioning itself around scale, talent and natural resources. AI labs are chasing a slice of the corporate pie in Southeast Asia

I’ve worked a lot with the Microsoft stack, and for a long time Excel was its staple. It gave Microsoft a foothold inside companies. Once a company ran its budgets, forecasts and operations in Excel, Microsoft could sell a lot of other products around it. It became embedded in the organisation. And after decades of […] The post AI labs are chasing a slice of the corporate pie in Southeast Asia appeared first on e27.

Jenni is an academic research and writing platform used by more than six million researchers, who have written over 15 million papers on it. The US-headquartered company says it passed US$10 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) this year and is profitable, having grown almost entirely from revenue after raising only a small angel round. DePIN and RWA alliances in 2026: Global momentum meets SEA opportunities

DePIN (Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Networks) crowdsources real-world resources like compute, storage, and connectivity via blockchain incentives. RWA tokenisation brings tangible assets (real estate, commodities, infrastructure) on-chain for fractional ownership, liquidity, and global access. Together, they address SEA’s challenges: high infrastructure costs, limited banking reach, and volatility in local currencies. Are you leading with people? Or are you leading with tech?

Are you leading with people? Or are you leading with tech?

There’s a fundamental question that most leaders are avoiding right now, not because it’s too hard, but because the answer is uncomfortable. If you don’t understand where scarcity lives in the current economy, and you keep focusing on supplying more into markets with less demand or that are already overcrowded, you’ve forgotten Economics 101. Scarcity […] The post Are you leading with people? Or are you leading with tech? appeared first on e27.

ASEAN’s startup ecosystem is entering its accountability phase

Every mature startup ecosystem has eventually faced a period the venture community refers to, after the fact and usually with discomfort, as its accountability phase. The United States went through one in the early 2000s, after Enron, WorldCom, and the broader dot-com governance cleanup. China went through one in the late 2010s, when Luckin Coffee […] The post ASEAN’s startup ecosystem is entering its accountability phase appeared first on e27.
