Towards the End - New Balder Gernot Album

Nov 12, 2023

Here is the world of the future after the effects of global warming. A concept album based on post-apocalyptic rock

Hafnarfjordur, Reykjavík Nov 12, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Prolific artist Balder Gernot has once again pushed the boundaries of creativity with the release of his latest masterpiece, "Towards The End." This concept album takes listeners on a compelling journey through a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by the catastrophic effects of climate change.

The album's narrative unfolds with the poignant opening track, "Run My Friend",
setting the stage for an emotional exploration of a world profoundly impacted by environmental devastation. With "Here Is Your World," the second track, Gernot paints a vivid picture of a society struggling to survive amidst the aftermath of climate change.

As the album progresses, each track offers a window into the lives of individuals who, despite the odds, find solace and strength in their connection to a soulmate. Their love becomes a beacon of hope, driving them to work tirelessly towards the creation of a world
where peace and the promise of a brighter future for their children are within reach.

The closing track, "Towards The End," which lends its name to the album, leaves the outcome hanging in the balance.

Did the protagonists succeed in restoring a healthier environment, or were they merely driven by the power of love? This uncertainty invites listeners to craft their own conclusions, with the possibility of a sequel lingering in the background.

Balder Gernot's musical artistry elevates the album's evocative atmosphere in each and every track. A heartfelt appreciation goes to the gifted vocalist Giacomo Rossi and the masterful musical arrangements of Marco Ferri for their invaluable contributions to this groundbreaking project.

"Towards The End" is a testament to Balder Gernot's creative genius, offering a thought-provoking, musically rich experience that captivates and inspires. As the world grapples with critical environmental issues, this album serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of love, resilience, and the unwavering human spirit.

Balder Gernot is recognized as a verified artist on Spotify, making his work readily accessible to a global audience eager to embark on this musical odyssey.

Delivery fee cap risks shifting costs to riders, consumers

Pending bills at the National Assembly proposing a cap on delivery platform fees charged to food businesses to reduce their financial burdens, particularly small businesses with limited customer bases, are raising questions about the effectiveness of the proposed changes. Industry experts have examined the current ecosystem, which consists of food-ordering platforms, participating businesses, customers who place orders and riders who deliver them. They found that the cap could reduce the burden on businesses using the platforms but shift that cost to other groups in the ecosystem, such as riders and consumers. Three bills proposing different versions of the cap are pending at the National Assembly. One was proposed by Rep. Lee Kang-ill of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Policy Committee. He proposed capping the combined brokerage fee, payment processing fee and advertising expenses at 15 percent of an order's value, while imposing a separate cap and a minimum floor on delivery fees. Rep. Park Jeong-hun of the main opposition People Power Party (PPP) propo

CJ OliveNetworks teaches elementary students self-driving car coding

CJ OliveNetworks, the information technology services affiliate of CJ Group, is running a hands-on coding camp for elementary school students in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, to teach them how artificial intelligence (AI) and self-driving cars work, the company said Tuesday. The AX Creative Camp is part of the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education’s Sinnaneun Gongyu Hakgyo, or “Exciting Sharing School,” program. AX refers to “AI transformation,” the use of AI across business operations. This is the second year the company has held the camp, in which employees use their AI expertise to teach coding classes as part of its corporate social responsibility work. The education office’s program is an after-school learning platform built with local community groups to help students find their interests and learn on their own. Some 130,000 students took part in about 7,200 programs last year, covering arts, sports and AI. This year’s camp is open to elementary students in the area covered by the Bucheon office of education. Lessons move step by step from the basic principles of sel

AI supply chain exposure splits Q3 outlook for Samsung, LG parts units

Exposure to the artificial intelligence (AI) supply chain is splitting the third-quarter earnings outlooks for LG Innotek and Samsung Electro-Mechanics. The former faces weaker earnings prospects because of its optics-heavy sales mix and sensitivity to foreign exchange fluctuations, while the latter is offsetting currency-related pressure with a growing contribution from multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and semiconductor substrates. According to market tracker FnGuide on Tuesday, brokerages’ consensus estimate for LG Innotek’s third-quarter operating profit stood at 202.9 billion won ($152 million), down 32.8 percent from 302 billion won a month earlier. The revenue forecast was also lowered to 6.1 trillion won from 6.32 trillion won over the same period. The worsening earnings outlook weighed on LG Innotek shares, which plunged 15.47 percent on Monday. The biggest factor appears to be foreign exchange fluctuations, as raw materials and inventories purchased or produced when the won was weaker are being reflected in sales at a stronger won, hurting profit margins. “The sharp de

LG Uplus app AI moves beyond Q&A to handle payments, roaming

LG Uplus is upgrading the artificial intelligence (AI) search engine in its customer app into an active agent that completes tasks rather than just answering questions, the company said Tuesday. Korea’s third-largest mobile carrier is gradually converting the AI search in U+one, its all-in-one customer app, into what it calls an “actionable AI agent.” Through U+one, subscribers can check their plans and bills, make payments and sign up for services such as roaming and add-ons. The company launched a bill payment agent in August and a roaming agent in September. The previous AI search answered queries and then sent users to the relevant app screen. The new agents analyze customers’ actual usage data, recommend services and complete payments or sign-ups once the user confirms, all within a single conversation. The bill payment agent answers questions such as “How much is my bill this month?” When a bill has changed from the previous month, it explains why by breaking down items such as roaming, add-on services, small mobile payments and device installments. Users can pay without
