United States, October 5, 2026 -- Since 1938, Renn Kirby Frederick Auto has been a used-car store and a service shop in the same building on Buckeystown Pike — a test drive and a trade on one side of the visit, and a technician available at a customer’s home on the other.
People come to Renn Kirby for a car, and they come back when that car needs work. The family has done both jobs on this lot since 1938.
The sales floor is used cars, trucks, and SUVs, including battery-electric and hybrid vehicles when they are on the lot. A shopper can look through the inventory from home, text the store, or call and ask for a test drive. Financing can be started online or with the finance desk in the building. A credit application can include a co-applicant. The payment is explained before anyone is asked to decide. A trade is appraised in the same conversation, on its own, and is not quietly folded into a new price for the car they want. English and Spanish are spoken at the desk.
A buyer can see the terms of the sale before the drive over. The selling price is posted on the website and on the vehicle. The store calls that figure its One Time Price. Tax, title, and registration stay separate, as they do anywhere in Maryland. Where a history report is attached, it is on the listing. Cars that have already passed a Maryland safety inspection in the store’s own shop are marked that way, and are ready to register. Cars that have not are labeled so the buyer can see the condition and the work still required, rather than discover it after the sale. When a vehicle carries Ally Certified coverage, that limited warranty is marked too: three months or 3,000 miles, with no deductible on covered repairs, handled at this store. It is not a factory certified-pre-owned program. Truck accessories, including lifts, can be quoted to a specific vehicle and installed in the shop next door.
Customers can buy a car there and have it serviced there — in the shop, at home, or by pickup.
The other half of the building is the reason a sale does not have to be the end of the relationship. ASEcertified technicians work on all makes: oil, tires, brakes, alignments, batteries, diagnostics, air conditioning and heat, fluids, and Maryland safety inspections. A shopper can book a pre-purchase inspection before buying. Tires can be chosen online and mounted at the store. The same shop services motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, and scooters. It does not sell them. On electric vehicles the store does not advertise high-voltage battery repair. It does the work it already does: tires, rotations, brakes, and alignments.
Service can be done three ways, by those same technicians. A customer can come to the bays at 5712 Buckeystown Pike, drop the car off, or wait. A technician can come to a home or a job, within about 50 miles, for maintenance that can be finished on site — including a vehicle unlock when the keys are locked inside. Or the store will collect the car, finish the job in the shop, and bring it back, including overnight. The work is explained before it starts. Parts are on the property.
Connor Kirby runs the Frederick store. The standard he keeps applies to both sides of the building. A customer should know the terms of the deal, and the terms of the repair, before arriving. Nothing in that standard is a claim about being the biggest dealer in town. It is a habit a person can check: the price on the car, the label on the inspection, the name of the coverage if there is any, and a straight answer about what the shop is about to do.
Hours run Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturday, sales is open until 5 p.m. and service until 2 p.m. The desk is (301) 835-1283. Inventory, financing, trade-ins, and service are at rennkirbyfrederick.com.
For nearly ninety years, Frederick has bought cars from this family and brought them back. The store still does both. It sells the car, explains the numbers, and takes the trade. Then it keeps the vehicle running — in the bay, in the customer’s driveway, or on a trip back to Buckeystown Pike.

East Asia’s crypto market is no longer moving as one bloc. New regional data shows a fragmented landscape where South Korea is trading artificial intelligence-linked tokens at scale, Hong Kong is pulling in institutional capital, Japan’s retail users are quietly moving on-chain, and China’s stablecoin activity is expanding despite official restrictions. The region’s overall crypto […] The post East Asia’s crypto market splits as Korea bets on AI tokens and Hong Kong courts institutions appeared first on e27.
Most AI writing about work still treats the technology like an advanced tool. That framing made sense when AI mainly waited for a prompt, returned an answer, and stopped there. But that is no longer the whole picture. In more organisations, AI is starting to look less like software you use and more like a […] The post AI is starting to behave less like a tool and more like a teammate appeared first on e27.

Nearly one in five marketing leaders has already eliminated roles because automation now handles the work. That is the finding behind a new Gartner prediction, which Marketing Week reported this week: by 2030, most high-performing marketing teams will be able to drop the traditional bottom rungs of the corporate ladder. The headline number is 18 […] The post Gartner says AI will kill the entry-level marketing job by 2030. Here’s why that’s the wrong takeaway appeared first on e27.
October looks like it could be crazy busy month for Apple and its users and fans.
In 2021, I invested in one of the robotics startups that was solving for real world problems. The idea was to look beyond the screen and make every hardware talking through new robo technology. My thesis was clear, after the software it’s hardware that will be disrupted. The artificial intelligence investment story is beginning to move beyond the most obvious winners. For much of the past three years, the market’s attention has centred on graphics processing units (GPUs), high-bandwidth memory and the companies supplying the raw compute needed to train large AI models. That first wave is not over. But according to […] The post AI’s bottleneck economy is taking shape across Southeast Asia’s chip supply chain appeared first on e27.

The most consequential AI launch of the past week was one that never happened.
