China International Industry Fair (CIIF) is scheduled for October 12–16, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, anchoring a seven-event October calendar of manufacturing exhibitions. The roundup covers overlapping dates for battery, packaging, sheet-metal, fabrication and machine-tool events.
Shanghai, China, October 2, 2026 -- October 2026 Industrial Trade Show Calendar Highlights CIIF and Overlapping Sourcing Dates
China International Industry Fair (CIIF) is a manufacturing exhibition in Shanghai that connects industrial automation, robotics and metalworking within one event. Scheduled for October 12–16, 2026, at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), it provides an early stop in a seven-event October calendar covering factory systems and specialist production needs. The concentration of later events makes technical priorities and team allocation central to planning the month.

For manufacturers assessing a project that spans machines, handling and controls, CIIF offers a way to investigate related requirements during one visit. Battery, packaging, sheet-metal and machine-tool specialists can then evaluate the other October events against their particular purchasing tasks. Dates alone are insufficient to determine which trip deserves engineering time.
CIIF brings related manufacturing disciplines into one fair
CIIF's 2026 event announcement confirms the October 12–16 schedule and ten theme shows. These include the Metalworking and CNC Machine Tool Show (MWCS), Industrial Automation Show (IAS) and Robotics Show (RS). IAS and RS are theme shows within CIIF, a relationship that matters when buyers build an exhibition shortlist.
The CIIF 2025 after-show report records 3,011 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. Within that edition, IAS accounted for 655 exhibitors and RS for 415. These historical figures describe the previous fair's breadth and the depth of two relevant theme shows. They provide context for researching the 2026 programme, while current supplier participation and meeting availability remain questions for the latest directory and direct exhibitor contact.
The combination is relevant to an automated production-cell project. A manufacturing engineer can investigate machine requirements through MWCS, discuss robotic handling through RS and examine controls through IAS. Bringing a common application brief to those conversations helps identify the interfaces that an integrated proposal must address. Individual equipment availability and demonstrations should be checked with the relevant exhibitors.
The International Federation of Robotics' September 2026 report places this sourcing activity in a wider industrial context. It reports that factories worldwide installed more than 600,000 industrial robots in 2025, including 354,000 in China. These figures describe the robotics market, rather than participation or sales at any exhibition. For buyers, they reinforce the relevance of questions about application suitability, integration and support alongside hardware selection.
Seven October events serve different production decisions
The following selection is arranged by exhibition opening date and focuses on manufacturing equipment, processes and factory technology. It is a planning overview with CIIF as its focal event, rather than an independent quality ranking or a complete October directory. Dates and locations follow the events' official information.
1. CIIF, October 12–16, Shanghai. The National Exhibition and Convention Center hosts the fair's coverage of manufacturing equipment, automation, robotics and other industrial disciplines. It is relevant to teams assessing several connected parts of a production system.
2. The Battery Show North America, October 13–15, Detroit. The expo at Huntington Place covers battery and EV technology. Workshops take place on October 12. Battery engineering, quality and sourcing teams should distinguish those workshop and exhibition dates when allocating staff.
3. PACK EXPO International, October 18–21, Chicago. The McCormick Place event focuses on packaging and processing. It is relevant when a procurement brief concerns product handling, packaging machinery or related production operations.
4. EuroBLECH, October 20–23, Hanover. The exhibition at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds covers sheet metal working technology. Production and process engineers can use it to investigate requirements across the sheet metal manufacturing chain.
5. FABTECH, October 21–23, Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Convention Center event covers metal forming, fabrication, welding and finishing. Its scope aligns with fabrication managers and engineers evaluating equipment and process changes.
6. Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC, October 21–22, Singapore. ITAP's current programme is based at Suntec Singapore. Automation, digital manufacturing and advanced production systems make it relevant to manufacturing leaders and teams connecting information technology with operational technology.
7. JIMTOF, October 26–31, Tokyo. The Japan International Machine Tool Fair takes place at Tokyo Big Sight. Machine tools and related equipment provide the focus for machining, tooling and manufacturing-engineering teams at the end of the month.
Overlapping dates require explicit choices
CIIF and The Battery Show expo overlap on October 13–15. Manufacturers with both broad automation and battery-specific requirements may need to divide responsibilities between teams. The useful distinction is the production problem assigned to each visit, with a shared method for recording technical findings afterward.
The next concentration falls on October 21. PACK EXPO International remains open in Chicago, EuroBLECH is underway in Hanover, and FABTECH and ITAP begin in Las Vegas and Singapore. Covering all four in full would require separate representatives. A company choosing one should prioritize the process under review, required supplier meetings and the region in which the equipment will be supported.
JIMTOF's October 26 opening creates a later window after the other six exhibitions close. That sequencing may support further machine-tool research, although a viable itinerary still depends on transport and meeting availability. A free date in the calendar does not establish a feasible connection between venues.
A shared technical brief gives each visit a purpose
The calendar becomes more useful when every event has an assigned procurement question. A team evaluating robotic machine loading at CIIF, for example, can specify the workpiece, cycle-time target, machine interface and required production volume before meeting suppliers. Colleagues covering MWCS, RS and IAS can then compare information against the same application.
Specialist visits need equivalent preparation. Battery teams can identify the precise assembly or testing step under review; packaging teams can bring product formats and changeover requirements; machining teams can bring drawings and tolerance requirements. This makes it easier to distinguish an attractive demonstration from a proposal that addresses the intended installation.
Before travel, buyers should confirm current exhibitor information and access requirements, then assign responsibility for each follow-up. Meeting notes should capture the proposed scope, unresolved integration questions and the evidence needed for the next procurement stage. A representative part trial may be more useful than another general sales presentation.
For October 2026, CIIF's place in the calendar rests on its combination of manufacturing disciplines in Shanghai. Its October 12–16 dates give teams a defined opportunity to investigate equipment and system requirements before several later specialist events, while keeping a clear boundary between exhibition research and a purchasing decision.
