The lifetime warranty is valid provided that testers return their units to First Stop Safety for annual recalibration.
York, England, United Kingdom, October 2, 2026 -- York-based maker of portable appliance testing equipment, First Stop Safety, which manufactures its own products in-house, is bringing a new PAT tester device to the British market. The unit, named InstaTest100 or IT100, is a robust handheld unit that shows various numerical readings on a conventional LCD screen. It is the first in an exciting new range of testers in First Stop Safety's InstaTest range. The product, according to First Stop Safety, offers a lifetime warranty as long as customers return their units once a year for servicing and recalibration.

CEO at First Stop Safety, David Yodaiken, said the following:
“The new IT100 runs substitute earth leakage, polarity tests, insulation resistance and earth continuity. It can handle both Class 1 and Class 2 appliances and is compatible with 13A appliance test sockets as well as IEC and ETL test sockets. Leads up to 45 m long can be tested using the system.”
The IT100 comes with an internal rechargeable battery pack, providing up to 1,400 tests on one charge. This feature allows testing technicians to move between rooms, areas, or sites without having to rely on the mains supply. Pricing starts at £330 for the unit on its own, excluding VAT.
First Stop Safety also provides the IT100 as a set with the company's FirstPrint label printer. The printer, which is also sold on its own for £99 excluding VAT, uses thermal technology, so it doesn't require any ink and connects automatically via Bluetooth, working inside the free WePrint app available on Android and iOS. The system prints compliance-ready, PASS Electrical Safety Test labels for operatives, and the printer works with any PAT tester, not just the IT100.
The lifetime warranty operates under a simple framework. If testers develop faults, owners can send them back to First Stop Safety for repairs free of charge, and if a unit can't be repaired, the owner gets a replacement unit of equal or higher specification. The warranty remains in effect for the life of the unit as long as technicians return devices every year for calibration. It doesn't cover water damage, mains power applied to the test sockets or any other form of damage going beyond normal wear.
The IT100 is available to purchase at First Stop Safety's York headquarters or online, and buyers can train on it online, in York or on their own site, with support by phone and email once it is in use. The unit complements the company's existing range, including the MemoryPAT and the BattPAT, both of which also carry the lifetime warranty with annual recalibration.

Singapore’s early bet on artificial intelligence could give its economy a modest but meaningful lift as population ageing starts to bite. But the real test will not be how many companies say they use AI. It will be whether they can rebuild work around it. Jonathan Honig, who owns about 9% of MoneyHero’s Class A shares, wants the Nasdaq-listed comparison platform sold. His open letter asks the board to hire an independent adviser and explore a sale before a 5 October deadline. The signing of an AI accord by President Trump and tech leaders has done little to quell concerns over the lack of guardrails surrounding artificial intelligence. While Trump says industry officials can self-police, critics say more is needed to make sure AI development doesn’t get out of hand, even as some described it as a...
China has set a five-year goal for the expansion of intelligent computing capacity to drive artificial intelligence (AI) that calls for a more than fourfold increase on what was in place at the end of June this year. To reach the 2030 target while being blocked by the United States from importing the most advanced Western-made AI chips will require innovation, adaptation and the application and coordination of vast resources. Judging by the 177 per cent increase in capacity achieved in the year...
Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. posted record U.S. sales for September, driven by strong demand for sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and hybrid models, the Hyundai Motor Group affiliates said Friday. Hyundai Motor America sold 77,439 vehicles last month, up 9 percent from a year earlier, marking its highest-ever September sales. Sales of the Palisade SUV surged 52 percent on-year, while the Sonata, Tucson and Santa Fe also posted double-digit growth. Kia America also reported its best-ever September sales, with deliveries jumping 18 percent on-year to 77,009 units. The Seltos, Niro, K4, Telluride, Sorento, Carnival, K5 and Sportage were among the models that contributed to the strong monthly performance.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has signed a contract to build an offshore substation for a wind farm in waters off Taean, South Chungcheong Province, as it expands its presence in the offshore wind market. The company announced on Friday that it recently signed a contract with Taean Wind Power to carry out the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of an offshore substation for the wind farm. Taean Wind Power is a joint venture between Singapore-based renewable energy company Vena Energy, Danish investment and development firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) and state-run Korea Western Power. An offshore substation is a key facility that transmits electricity generated by turbines at an offshore wind farm to shore. The offshore substation to be built in Taean will step up the voltage of electricity generated by a 500-megawatt wind farm before transmitting the power to shore. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries secured the project through a series of agreements, signing a front-end engineering design contract in March, followed by a preferred supplier agreement
Genetically modified organism (GMO) components were detected in 99.3 percent of U.S. soybean import cases tested over the past decade, trade data showed Friday, raising calls for Korea to diversify its soybean import sources. According to Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp. data submitted to Rep. Song Ok-joo of the Democratic Party of Korea, Korea imported 1.6 million tons of U.S. soybeans between 2017 and September 2026, accounting for 91.5 percent of its total soybean imports during the period. GMO components were detected in 399 of 402 U.S. soybean import cases, or 99.3 percent. Canadian soybeans were imported in 45 shipments totaling 29,469 tons, with GMO components detected in 57.8 percent of the cases. In contrast, no GMO components were detected in soybeans imported from China or Russia. Chinese soybeans totaled 112,124 tons in 18 shipments, accounting for 6.4 percent of total imports, while Russian soybeans totaled 7,870 tons across five shipments. The data came amid recent controversies over GMO detection in soybean-based foods such as tofu, soy milk and fermented soybean pa
Dunamu, the operator of Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, said Friday that it expanded its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered market analytics platform with real-time tools that summarize broad market trends and pinpoint the reasons behind price movements for individual digital assets. Upbit Data Lab, launched in April 2025, is the exchange's analytics platform offering crypto indexes, sector data and blockchain analysis. The new "AI Market Report" is a video of 90 seconds or less that draws on the Upbit composite index, major asset prices, top gainers and losers, and market sentiment indicators, with AI selecting key issues based on price moves and market impact. It is released at 10 a.m. on weekdays on Upbit Data Lab and Upbit's official YouTube channel. A second new service, "Uptrace," tracks price data and related news for individual assets to identify the main factors behind price changes. Users can click diamond-shaped icons on an asset's chart to see the AI analysis and related news for that point in time. Dunamu also reorganized its existing "AI News Briefing" in
