Fort Lauderdale, United States - September 9, 2021 /MarketersMEDIA/ —
HCI College has launched their new Medical Assisting Diploma program, a 36-credit hour program that can be completed in as little as 10 months at the institution’s Fort Lauderdale campus.
The curriculum is taught using a hybrid method that delivers in classroom instruction two days a week in-person and two days a week online. The Program intends to equip students with clinical and administrative training and prepare them for entry-level employment as medical assistants.
“The Medical Assisting program correlates with our institutional goal of serving as an educational resource that educates and trains entry-level allied health professionals in our community,” said Dr. Arlette Petersson, Vice President of Academic and Regulatory Affairs. “Recognizing the technological advances and the need for students to have options with their scheduling, HCI College has implemented a complete and diverse curriculum and various electronic resources to better prepare our students.”
Additionally, HCI adds that the program is eligible for federal financial aid funding for those who qualify.
“One of the biggest challenges our students face is being able to afford their program of choice. Providing them with a means to tap into federal funding allows us to help students reach their academic goals. As an institution of higher learning, we are able to change the lives of our students, who, in turn, change the lives of the patients they serve in the community,” adds Kacey Atkinson, Regional Director of Financial Aid for HCI College.

Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) said Monday it will work with POSCO International Corp. and a Mexican aerospace industry group to strengthen aerospace cooperation in Mexico and explore opportunities in the broader Latin American market. KAI, POSCO International and the Mexican Federation of Aerospace Industry (FEMIA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on aerospace industry cooperation on the occasion of President Lee Jae Myung's state visit to Mexico last week. Under the agreement, KAI plans to develop business models involving supply chain cooperation and explore new business opportunities in Latin America. POSCO International will support efforts to integrate selected Mexican companies into KAI's aerospace manufacturing supply chain. FEMIA, which represents more than 100 member companies, will facilitate exchanges with Mexico's aerospace ecosystem, help identify potential local partners and provide information on relevant government policies. "Building on our cooperation with Mexico, we will accelerate efforts to expand the FA-50 light combat aircraft into Central America
LG Chem signed an agreement with Volkswagen Group to jointly develop next-generation and eco-friendly materials for vehicles, the Korean chemical maker said Monday. The memorandum of understanding (MOU), a nonbinding agreement, was signed recently at the LG Twin Towers in Seoul's Yeouido financial district. Stefan Gramse, a Volkswagen Group executive vice president in charge of exterior parts procurement, and LG Chem executives from its petrochemicals business attended the signing. Under the deal, the two companies will use LG Chem's acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and engineering plastics to make vehicles lighter, improve performance and develop new plastics and composite materials. Both are high-performance plastics known for impact strength, durability and ease of processing, and are widely used in home appliance casings and car interiors and exteriors. Volkswagen will also consider wider use of LG Chem's post-consumer recycled plastics, made from products discarded by consumers, as well as lower-cost materials for the interiors and exteriors of its major car brands. Samsung Biologics showcased manufacturing technologies designed to accelerate biopharmaceutical development and improve product quality at BioProcess International (BPI) 2026 in Boston, highlighting efforts to streamline complex drug production. The company said Monday it participated in BPI from Sept. 22-25, drawing more than 3,000 biopharmaceutical professionals from around the world. Samsung Biologics, which has attended BPI for nine consecutive years, operated its own booth featuring capabilities spanning contract research, development and manufacturing, along with Samsung Organoids, differentiated contract development and manufacturing services and production for multiple modalities. During a presentation Wednesday, the company's antibody purification process development team outlined an integrated chemistry, manufacturing and controls strategy for bispecific and multispecific antibodies. The team said molecule-specific process development reduced a development timeline from 13 months to 9.5 months while maintaining high quality. Scientific posters presented during the conference als
Almonty Korea Tungsten Corp. (AKTC) has produced its first bulk bag of salable tungsten concentrate produced at its Sangdong mine in Yeongwol County, Gangwon Province, ready for shipment, marking a key step toward commercial production. The Korean subsidiary of New York-based Almonty Industries said Monday that the production of 1 ton of minerals came after the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corp. issued a mining facility inspection certificate for the mine’s processing plant and crushing facilities on Sept. 17. The state-run company under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources inspected the facilities on Sept. 14 and found the plant and facilities compliant. The certification has formally opened doors for AKTC to operate the facilities and process ores mined at Sangdong into tungsten concentrate for domestic supply and export. Production involves crushing, grinding and flotation to separate tungsten-bearing material from the ores. AKTC said it will gradually increase output and begin supplying customers in Korea and overseas after the production process stabili

Coupang’s ongoing confrontation with Korean regulators is exposing a structural risk for U.S. investors, as the Nasdaq-listed e-commerce giant remains overwhelmingly reliant on the Korean market, where it is facing mounting regulatory pressure. Coupang makes more than 90 percent of its total sales in Korea, resulting in an unusually high dependence on Korea for a Nasdaq-listed company. That concentration has become particularly significant since a massive data breach disclosed in November 2025 triggered a cascade of government investigations, penalties and legal disputes. Coupang shares closed at $13.88 (18,800 won) on Friday, down 50.7 percent from $28.16 on Nov. 28 last year, the last trading day before the company publicly disclosed the breach. The decline cannot be attributed entirely to the data breach that affected more than 33 million customer accounts, or the subsequent regulatory actions. Coupang swung to a $266 million net loss in the first quarter of 2026 as compensation vouchers and weaker customer demand hurt its results, while its second-quarter earnings also fell short o
Korea will begin production of its first satellite for the Korean Positioning System (KPS) ahead of a planned launch in September 2029, the space agency said Monday. The Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) said it will hold a critical design review with related ministries and research institutions for the KPS No. 1 satellite, marking the final review before production of the flight model begins. The KPS is Korea's planned satellite navigation system designed to provide high-precision positioning, navigation and timing services over the Korean Peninsula and surrounding areas. The government plans to invest 3.72 trillion won ($2.73 billion) in the project over 14 years from 2022. Despite the delay, KASA plans to maintain its goal of deploying all eight KPS satellites by 2035.
The Bank of Korea (BOK) is facing scrutiny over its cybersecurity after the personal information of 186 employees was leaked in a hacking incident earlier this year, according to central bank's data submitted to Rep. Lee Jong-wook of the main opposition People Power Party (PPP), Monday. The breach occurred between May and June after hackers gained access to a GitHub system used by a contractor for the BOK's online training program. The leaked information included employees' names, email addresses, phone numbers, positions, duties and passwords. "We were notified by the contractor of the breach on June 11 and informed the affected employees the following day. We also reported the incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission," a BOK official said. The PPP lawmaker said the central bank should not take the leak of employees' personal information or repeated disruptions to its websites lightly. "As the central bank, the BOK should thoroughly assess the causes of the repeated incidents, review its overall security system and establish measures to prevent them from happening again
