Profit Acuity releases a guide on improving local business visibility across Google Maps, Search, and AI Answers, citing data on relevance, prominence, and distance factors driving local search and AI recommendation results.

Center Valley, United States, October 1, 2026 /NewsNetwork/ -- Profit Acuity has published a new guide for local business owners that reframes how Google visibility should be pursued. Rather than chasing a higher position for a single search term, the guide argues that businesses should aim to qualify for more searches across Maps, Search, and AI Answers, presenting this as a shift in strategy that owners can act on directly rather than treat as background reading.
More information on how to get my business to show up more on Google is available in the full guide on the Profit Acuity site.
The guide outlines how Google decides who appears in local results. According to the guide, Google weighs three core factors: relevance, distance, and prominence. Relevance and prominence remain within a business owner's control, while distance is fixed by the business address, leaving owners with two practical levers to pull.
Industry research helps quantify how much each lever matters. The Whitespark 2026 Local Search Ranking Factors survey found that Google Business Profile signals account for roughly 32% of map pack outcomes, while on-page website signals carry about 33% of the weight for regular listings beneath the map. A business optimizing only its profile, or only its website, is therefore addressing half the picture.
AI-generated answers add another layer of difficulty. SOCi's 2026 Local Visibility Index reports that businesses appeared in Google's local three-pack 35.9% of the time, compared with 11% for Gemini recommendations and just 1.2% for ChatGPT. That gap suggests earning a spot in an AI answer is a considerably tougher bar than earning a map listing, one that local businesses can no longer set aside.
The guide lays out a sequenced path for addressing both challenges. It explains how to build relevance through accurate category selection, a complete services list, and dedicated pages for each service offered, and it covers how to build prominence through consistent review generation and genuine local mentions, giving owners a 90-day action plan rather than a general overview.
The release reflects Profit Acuity's broader approach to local marketing, which measures the underlying data before recommending any action. Profit Acuity provides a Precision Profit Plan, a 12-month revenue roadmap built on more than 500 data points, and bills much of its work on performance rather than upfront cost. South Korea launched its homegrown Nuri rocket Wednesday on its fifth flight to place 15 satellites into orbit, including five that will form part of the country's first domestically launched microsatellite constellation. The 200-ton Nuri blasted off from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, about 400 kilometers southwest of Seoul, at 12:25 p.m. The payload consists of five New-space Earth Observation Satellite Constellation for National Safety (NEONSAT) microsatellites and 10 CubeSats. Nuri's first and second stages will separate about 123 and 268 seconds after liftoff, respectively, with satellite deployment beginning between 810 and 960 seconds at an altitude of around 575 kilometers. The five NEONSATs, Nos. 2 through 6, will be deployed at intervals of 35 to 40 seconds, with Nuri's upper stage rotating by about 45 degrees between each separation to prevent collisions. The 10 CubeSats will then be deployed two at a time at 10-second intervals. After releasing all 15 satellites, Nuri will perform a collision-avoidance maneuver and vent its remaining fuel, completing its flight about 20 min
For the past two years, the story engineering teams told about AI was simple: it writes code faster, so teams ship faster. That story is only half true. Code does get written faster. But Google’s 2025 DORA report, based on analysis of over 1,100 open-ended responses from Google software engineers, found that higher AI adoption […] The post The new engineering bottleneck isn’t writing code, it’s trusting it appeared first on e27.
Bitcoin traded in a narrow band near US$85,400 to US$85,550 during early October 7, 2026. Live aggregator readings clustered around US$85,435 to US$85,542. The 24-hour change settled at roughly -0.3 per cent to -0.5 per cent on most feeds, though one snapshot briefly showed a small positive. There were no sustained breakouts in either direction. Asia’s AI founders are increasingly facing a split-screen reality. Investor interest is high, but building at the frontier of artificial intelligence still requires more than a seed cheque. Startups need access to large models, cloud infrastructure, technical feedback, distribution channels and patient capital, all while competing with better-funded peers in the US and China. For much of the past three decades, American companies operating overseas benefited from a powerful assumption: that despite periodic political turbulence at home, the United States (US) remained a predictable and broadly reliable commercial partner. That assumption has been badly tested. Yet the latest phase of the US-European relationship is more complicated than a simple […] The post Europe’s trade truce with America has not restored trust in American business appeared first on e27.
Korea's homegrown Nuri rocket is set for its fifth launch Wednesday, carrying 15 satellites, including five that will form part of the country's first domestically launched microsatellite constellation. The three-stage rocket is scheduled to lift off from the Naro Space Center in Goheung, about 400 kilometers south of Seoul, at 12:25 p.m., Oh Tae-seok, administrator of the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA), said. Oh said the rocket is technically ready for launch, with weather and space conditions also favorable and no concerns over potential collisions with space objects, allowing the launch to proceed as scheduled. The payload consists of five New-space Earth Observation Satellite Constellation for National Safety (NEONSAT) microsatellites and 10 CubeSats. About four hours before liftoff, the launch team will begin filling the three-stage rocket with kerosene fuel and liquid oxygen oxidizer after completing system checks. Nuri's first and second stages will separate about 123 and 268 seconds after liftoff, respectively, with satellite deployment beginning between 810 and 960 seconds
Concierge medicine is expensive for a simple reason: physician attention is scarce. A typical primary-care doctor may be responsible for 2,000 or more patients, while concierge practices generally restrict panels to 400 or fewer to 600. Patients pay annual retainers ranging from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands for longer appointments and faster […] The post AI could turn concierge medicine into the future interface to healthcare appeared first on e27.
