Dmitriy Pingasov Uses Aviation Experience for Athlete Transportation and Personal Travel

Sep 3, 2026

Miami, Florida Sep 3, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Dmitriy Pingasov's recent flying activities have included two very different types of trips: personal travel and volunteer transportation for athletes.

Pingasov, a pilot and businessman, recently traveled to Alaska, adding another destination to his experience of exploring the United States through private aviation. His previous travels have included destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. His publicly documented aviation qualifications include multiple airplane and helicopter ratings and a flight instructor certificate.

In 2026, Pingasov also used his pilot skills for a volunteer mission connected with the Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota. He transported four swimmers and their coach from North Carolina to the competition. The trip was reported publicly following the Games.

The flight was part of a wider effort by volunteer pilots to help Special Olympics teams travel to national competition. For athletes and coaches, transportation is one of the logistical challenges of participating in events held far from home. Volunteer aviation can provide an additional option for teams traveling together.

For Pingasov, the opportunity to use his aviation experience in this way has become an important part of his flying.

"I'm very happy and proud that I can help people this way," Pingasov said. "Flying gives me an opportunity not only to travel myself, but also to help someone else get where they need to go."

The Special Olympics mission also demonstrated how private pilots can apply their skills outside business and personal travel. Planning a flight for a sports team requires attention to weather, routing, aircraft capabilities, timing, and passenger needs, while maintaining the same operational standards required on any flight.

His recent Alaska trip presented a different kind of aviation experience. Alaska's geography, distances between communities, and changing weather conditions make route planning an important part of any flight. For a private pilot, such destinations can also provide experience in operating in environments that differ from more familiar domestic routes.

The contrast between the two trips illustrates the range of activities associated with private aviation. One flight was connected to personal travel and exploration; the other helped a group of athletes and their coach reach a national sporting event.

Pingasov continues to view pilot training as an ongoing process. His ratings across different aircraft categories and his instructor qualification reflect continued engagement with aviation beyond simply holding a pilot certificate.

For him, however, the practical value of flying extends beyond technical skills and travel. The Special Olympics flight provided an opportunity to apply those skills directly to another person's needs.

As volunteer aviation programs continue to connect pilots with organizations and teams across the country, Pingasov's recent flights offer a straightforward example of how private aviation can serve both personal and community purposes.
