Collaborative ABA Services, LLC Annual Meet and Greet in Partnership With South Fire District, Middletown Police Department and Middletown Recreation

Middletown families and first responders come together for a fifth year
MIDDLETOWN, CT — September 22, 2026 — On Saturday, September 26, 2026, the Middletown Recreation facility at 140 Wilderman's Way will open its doors from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a morning built around fun, connection, and community resources. The Collaborative ABA Services, LLC Annual Meet and Greet returns for its fifth consecutive year, in partnership with South Fire District, Middletown Police Department and Middletown Recreation.
At its heart, the Meet and Greet is a chance for the community to connect with local police officers and firefighters. The morning is designed to promote positive, comfortable interactions between children of all abilities and first responders, so that children can meet the people who serve their community in a relaxed, welcoming setting — and so families can build familiarity and trust with the first responders who may one day help them in an emergency.
Attendance is free and open to families throughout Middletown and the surrounding communities. Children and individuals of all abilities are welcome, and the morning will include games, activities, and refreshments. Sonar, the Hartford Wolfpack mascot, will make a special guest appearance.
In addition to the activities, community partners will be present throughout the event to share valuable information and resources with families, making this a unique opportunity to learn about and connect with local organizations. This year's participating partners include Middletown Prevention, Russell Library, the City of Middletown Health Department, Change Inc., the Meriden Early Start Program, the Yale Child Study Center, and others.
"Events like this allow us to create a welcoming and supportive environment where families come together, have fun, and feel connected to the resources available in our community," said Alisha Simpson-Watt, Executive Clinical Director and Founder of Collaborative ABA Services, LLC. "For children of all abilities, meeting our police officers and firefighters in a friendly setting builds familiarity and trust that lasts well beyond the event itself. Five years in, that is still the reason we host it, and it is an honor to stand alongside partners who care about the wellbeing of our community."
Advanced registration is required. To register for the event, please visit https://www.collaborativeabaservices.com/register

Artificial intelligence (AI) models developed by a research team led by Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) professor Nam Ju-han made their debut at one of Korea’s leading jazz festivals, performing improvised jazz alongside human artists. According to the university Friday, the team showcased human-AI music collaboration technology that analyzes the flow of human performances in real time, allowing AI to take over performances or generate improvised accompaniment, during the 23rd Jarasum Jazz Festival, held in Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province, from Oct. 9 to 11. A total of 12 human jazz artists participated in the event, collaborating with AI in 26 pieces across 12 performances. The technology is different from existing music AI services as it enables collaboration with human musicians in jazz, a genre characterized by improvisation. Jazz musicians often change the tempo or create new melodies based on how they feel in the moment. Because the same piece can be performed differently each time, musicians must listen to one another and adjust their playing accord
Sit in the architecture review of almost any platform that has reached four ASEAN markets and the same diagram appears. One product on top. Underneath, four data stores, four payment integrations, four know-your-customer flows (the identity checks that onboard each user), and four sets of legal entities and directors. Indonesian fintech expansion into ASEAN looks different in 2026 than it did when Investree opened its Thailand operations in 2018 and its Philippines unit shortly after. The cohort of Indonesian platforms that pushed beyond the domestic market between 2018 and 2022 (Investree, Modalku, several payment players, a handful of insurtechs) encountered a structural cost that […] The post Why Indonesian fintech’s ASEAN expansion cost more than anyone priced in appeared first on e27.

President Trump took a slight jab Wednesday at tech mogul Elon Musk, who remains a close ally despite a rollercoaster relationship between the two. Trump made the swipe while going after Arizona Gov. SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines is looking to expand its presence in Asia as its Incheon-Seattle route gains traction, with Korea emerging as a key market in the U.S. carrier’s expanding international network. The airline recorded load factors of 82 percent in June, 84 percent in July and 79 percent in August on the route, marking a strong start in its first full year of operations. The figures exceeded expectations for a new route, which typically takes about three years to mature as the airline adjusts schedules and connections to meet passenger demand. "Those are really good, strong load factors for the first year of a new route," Shane Tackett, president and chief financial officer of Alaska Airlines, said in an interview with The Korea Times on Sept. 29. He added that one month ranked among Alaska's best-performing international routes financially before fuel prices increased significantly. The airline sees further opportunities to attract passengers from Korea, where its brand remains relatively unfamiliar. Tackett said Alaska Airlines aims to raise awareness of its services and enco
