Chalice Brands (CSE: CHAL) (OTCQB: CHALF), formerly Golden Leaf Holdings Ltd., a premier consumer-driven cannabis company specializing in retail, production, processing, wholesale, and distribution, was featured in an exclusive Q&A video podcast produced by Stockhouse Media. Chalice Brands CEO and President Jeff Yapp and Executive Chairman John Varghese join Stockhouse Media’s Dave Jackson in an engaging discussion to bring the podcast’s audience up-to-date on this intriguing brand and exciting investment opportunity. The Q&A covered various topics, including the team’s experience in the cannabis space, new company developments, Chalice Brands’ innovative brands and products, strong growth potential and disciplined approach to acquisitions. “Having the opportunity to grow companies through, I would call profitable acquisitions, first and foremost is due diligence, right? We’ve got a very disciplined approach to the way we approach acquisitions. It’s led by Vice-President Business Development Ben Allmand, probably one of the best I’ve seen,” Varghese said. “So take a discipline approach to acquisitions and then the second piece is patience, right? Integrating of companies and cultures is never easy. I think we’re off to a really good start with Homegrown, but this is experience I’ve had in the past, where sometimes you move too fast and you lose your customer base and if we’re trying to hire fine companies that are in itself profitable, your number one job is to maintain the profitability while you do the transition. It has been exciting for us.”

I build AI tools for marketers, and run an AI marketing software firm in Singapore, so I spend a lot of time hearing about AI adoption. A recent talk by Robert Lai, founder of performance agency Kaliber, stuck with me because it opened with an uncomfortable claim: most of the AI work in the room […] The post AI won’t tidy your business. After narrowly losing yet another pitch earlier this year, I added up the time I had spent preparing proposals: 300 hours in four months. I wanted to know whether we were pursuing the right business. Using Gemini and a script in Google Docs, I compared five years of proposals with our client invoicing records. One […] The post How I use AI to support public relations appeared first on e27.
I teach people how to use AI for a living. So you would expect me to tell you it does everything. It doesn’t. What it does is take a huge amount of the grind out of my week, as long as I stay in the loop. Most of what I have learned came from AI […] The post I still work 40 hours a week. Malaysia has found the money for its startups again. The harder part, investors say, is finding everything that is supposed to come with it. In his Budget 2027 speech on 9 October, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Khazanah’s Jelawang Capital and KWAP’s Dana Perintis would invest MYR450 million (US$110.4 million) in startups. In 2015, Demis Hassabis looked back at a decision he had made more than a decade earlier. By 2004 he was already thinking about what would eventually become DeepMind, but concluded that the technology was not ready. The growing popularity of Chinese artificial intelligence models has emerged as a key risk factor for Anthropic ahead of its blockbuster initial public offering, according to US research firm Hedgeye Risk Management. “It’s all about Chinese competition when analysing Anthropic,” said Felix Wang, managing director and global tech sector head at Hedgeye. “Many of my clients are asking the same question.” The assessment comes as Anthropic faces renewed investor jitters over whether its massive AI...

Homeplus, which narrowly avoided liquidation and resumed operations in August, is struggling to regain its footing as weak sales and stalled takeover efforts cloud its recovery, according to industry officials Monday. The uncertainty has also prompted a wave of voluntary resignations among employees. A major supermarket chain, Homeplus is currently undergoing court-led rehabilitation after struggling for years with the decline of the country’s hypermarket sector and consumers’ shift to online shopping. In July, the Seoul Bankruptcy Court briefly terminated the proceedings after the embattled retailer failed to secure the minimum 200 billion won ($150 million) in fresh funding needed to carry out its restructuring plan. Homeplus reversed that outcome only after obtaining emergency financing from Meritz Financial Group, its largest creditor, at the last minute. The retailer reopened all 67 of its remaining stores nationwide on Aug. 13, hoping to put its recovery back on track. Sales reached 10.63 billion won on the first day, followed by a daily average of 8.7 billion won over the nex
Creditors of JoongAng Ilbo Co. picked DaouKiwoom-CJ consortium as the preferred bidder for one of the major South Korean newspaper publishers as they closed bidding for the debt-laden company earlier in the day, industry sources said Monday. According to the sources, the DaouKiwoom-CJ consortium beat Orion and four others in a race to take over JoongAng Ilbo, a deal estimated at between 400 billion won ($300 million) and 500 billion won. In July this year, JoongAng Ilbo entered the debt workout program, led by main creditor Hana Bank and other lenders, amid liquidity problems at its parent, JoongAng Group. Creditors' debt collection has been suspended for three months, allowing the company to avoid court-led rehabilitation proceedings. JoongAng Holdings owns a 64.7 percent stake in JoongAng Ilbo and is controlled by the founding family of JoongAng Group.
