Taipei City, Taiwan, September 30, 2026 -- EMMA Zero Gravity, Origin and MR. LIVING are three options for Taiwan shoppers replacing a mattress while keeping their existing bed frame. All three use pocket springs, but their comfort layers differ: EMMA includes a gel grid, Origin combines latex with memory foam, and MR. LIVING uses a memory-foam-led design. Lunio Gen4, NITORI N-SLEEP NF004 and IKEA VALEVÅG bring other constructions or firmness choices into the comparison. The shortlist below explains these differences alongside the practical question of fitting a replacement to the existing frame.
The six recommendations cover selected double-bed versions and are not ranked by quality. Product details come from Taiwan manufacturers or official stores, rather than a shared laboratory test. Sizes below identify the versions being compared; the right dimensions depend on the household’s own bed frame. Measurements are nominal width × length × thickness, so a matching size label alone does not guarantee fit.
1 EMMA Zero Gravity
EMMA’s Taiwan Zero Gravity listing specifies an AirGrid gel grid, foam layers and AeroFlex pocket springs, with a standard-double size of 152 × 188 × 27 cm. It is an option for a household replacing a spring mattress and interested in a grid-based comfort layer.
Keeping the frame does not necessarily preserve the height of the bed. Buyers replacing a thinner mattress should compare the 27 cm profile with the old mattress and the remaining visible headboard. The AirGrid layer offers a construction difference within this size group, but the recommendation depends on the frame’s usable opening and supporting surface accommodating the complete mattress.
2 Origin Natural Latex Pocket Spring Mattress
Origin’s Taiwan natural-latex pocket-spring mattress measures 152 × 188 × 27 cm in the standard-double version. Its construction combines latex and memory foam with pocket springs. It offers a latex comfort layer for buyers who still want a spring-based mattress. Origin also lists normal dimensional variation of ±2 cm, so the nominal measurements are not an exact-fit guarantee for a tightly enclosed frame.
Within the 152 × 188 cm group, this provides a latex-containing alternative without changing the listed 27 cm thickness. Buyers can compare the comfort-layer combination while asking about the required base. For a household whose main concern is lowering the bed surface, however, this model does not offer the lower listed profile of the 25 cm option below.
The latex label also appears on Lunio Gen4, but the two differ in construction and footprint. Origin pairs latex and memory foam with springs at a 152 cm width; Lunio uses a layered latex-and-foam build at 150 cm. A preference for latex therefore leaves two separate decisions: the support construction and the footprint the existing frame can accommodate.
3 MR. LIVING Cooling Memory Foam Mattress
MR. LIVING’s standard-double cooling memory-foam mattress measures 152 × 188 × 25 cm and combines memory foam, additional foam and pocket springs. It belongs on the shortlist for buyers considering a memory-foam comfort layer who also want a lower listed profile than the two 27 cm options.
The nominal 2 cm difference is worth checking where headboard exposure or bed height matters, though it is not a measured difference between delivered mattresses. Despite its memory-foam product name, this model includes pocket springs and should not be mistaken for an all-foam mattress. Its lower listed profile concerns thickness only: the width remains 152 cm.
A practical comparison starts with the current sleeping surface measured from the floor, alongside the old mattress thickness. That gives the household a reference for whether a replacement would raise or lower the bed on the same platform. The preferred result is a usable bed height, not simply the thinnest mattress in the shortlist.
4 Lunio Gen4
Lunio Gen4 is a layered latex-and-foam mattress with a Taiwan double specification of 150 × 188 × 24 cm. It offers a spring-free alternative for shoppers evaluating a 150 cm-wide mattress, rather than assuming a 152 cm-wide model will fit.
Its 188 cm length makes NITORI NF004 a closer dimensional comparison than the 190 cm-long IKEA version below. Lunio offers a different material combination from NF004’s C-CORE inserts. The 150 cm width is not automatic permission to use it inside a frame intended for 152 cm: any remaining gap and the supporting surface still need checking. Preference for latex also needs to be assessed in the complete mattress, not inferred from one material. For a closely fitted frame, ask Lunio to confirm the applicable dimensional tolerance for the selected Gen4 size before ordering.
5 NITORI N-SLEEP NF004
The Taiwan double version of NITORI N-SLEEP NF004 measures approximately 150 × 188 × 22.7 cm. Its C-CORE polyester inserts can be rearranged inside the mattress. This makes it worth considering for buyers interested in internal configuration changes as well as a lower listed mattress height.
NF004 and Lunio Gen4 share a nominal 150 × 188 cm footprint, with listed thicknesses of 22.7 cm and 24 cm respectively. NITORI’s official-store listing notes measurement variation of approximately ±2%, so those figures should not be treated as exact installed heights. Rearranging the inserts changes the mattress internally. For an adjustable bed base, ask the supplier whether NF004 is suitable.
6 IKEA VALEVÅG
The super-firm Taiwan version of IKEA VALEVÅG measures 150 × 190 × 24 cm. It combines pocket springs, five comfort zones and a foam top layer. This version addresses shoppers seeking a super-firm spring model whose frame can accommodate the 190 cm length.
That extra length distinguishes it from Lunio and NITORI despite the shared 150 cm width. Replacing an 188 cm-long mattress with this version needs an actual clearance check. IKEA’s super-firm description identifies the selected variant, not a standardized firmness score against the other five models. A different VALEVÅG size or firmness should be treated as a separate buying option.
IKEA specifies a mattress base or a non-adjustable slatted bed base for this model. A household retaining an electrically adjustable frame should resolve that base requirement before ordering VALEVÅG.
Choosing between the six recommendations
For a confirmed-compatible 152 × 188 cm setup, compare EMMA for its grid-and-foam comfort layers, Origin for its latex-and-memory-foam combination, and MR. LIVING for memory foam with a 25 cm profile. Each uses pocket springs. Within the 150 × 188 cm pair, compare Lunio’s layered construction with NF004’s rearrangeable inserts. Consider VALEVÅG separately where 150 × 190 cm and a super-firm specification suit the purchase.
Measure the frame’s usable opening and inspect the surface supporting the mattress. Sleep Foundation’s guide to bed-frame types highlights mattress dimensions and frame height as purchase considerations and describes different supporting designs. EMMA’s Taiwan mattress comparison adds a size-based screening framework. Ask each supplier about suitable support and slat spacing rather than applying one rule to every model.
For example, EMMA’s Taiwan warranty terms exclude length and width variations within ±2 cm, height variations within ±1 cm, and damage from an unsuitable base. These exclusions are not recommended installation clearances. For a tight-fitting frame, ask the supplier about the selected size and base before ordering; then compare the compatible models for feel and review delivery and return terms. After installation, EMMA’s home mattress-testing guide offers practical comfort checks with the bed frame, bedding and room conditions kept consistent.

The audit authority has cleared a key hurdle for six stalled public housing projects totaling nearly 4,000 units after the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) sought a preliminary consultation on behalf of builders struggling with soaring construction costs. The KCCI said on Tuesday that the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) determined that project costs for the six sites, covering 3,936 housing units, can be recalculated to reflect current market conditions. The case marks the KCCI’s first use of the consultation program since it was opened to private organizations in May. “Companies have faced difficulties for a long time, but this was not an issue they could easily make a decision on,” Lee Jong-myung, head of the KCCI's industry innovation division, said. “The BAI's decision to open its doors to the private sector has added another channel for resolving corporate difficulties, and its first result will benefit the public through housing supply.” The six projects are part of a public-private housing program, with public agencies providing the land while private bu
Private companies played a significantly greater role in the successful fifth launch of Korea’s Nuri rocket on Wednesday, signaling that the country’s efforts to keep pace with the global shift toward a private sector-led “New Space” era are gaining momentum. The Nuri rocket completed its fifth launch and 20-minute-long flight successfully after lifting off at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City, at 12:25 p.m. The most notable change in the latest launch was not the rocket itself, but the growing presence of private-sector personnel at the launch site. Hanwha Aerospace has overseen the manufacturing of the Nuri rocket as its system integrator since the fourth launch on Nov. 27 last year, but this time, its role expanded to the consoles at the launch control center. Hanwha Aerospace deployed 42 staffers for the fifth launch. They participated in operations at 20 of the 22 consoles responsible for launch vehicle systems, and at 18 of them, Hanwha employees directly operated the controls instead of specialists from the Korea Aerospace Researc
Hackers once had to manually test security defenses, identify vulnerabilities and work out how to exploit them. Now, artificial intelligence (AI) can do much of that work, requiring little human input. That possibility is at the center of Korea's latest security crisis in the financial sector, as investigators have found traces of an AI-powered autonomous penetration-testing tool in a series of recent cyberattacks on the country's major banks. Since last week, Shinhan Bank, KB Kookmin Bank, Hana Bank, Yegaram Savings Bank and BNK Busan Bank have all reported data breaches, while Woori Bank and NH NongHyup Bank have detected signs of hacking attempts, though no data leaks were confirmed. Shinhan Bank reported that about 25,000 customers were affected, with personal information including names, phone numbers, annual income and loan limits exposed. KB Kookmin reported 119 affected customers, while Hana Bank said personal information belonging to 89 customers was exposed. The hacking spree has drawn particular concern after investigators reportedly found traces of an AI-powered tool known as
SK Energy and HD Hyundai Oilbank may face sanctions from the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) over allegations that they colluded on gasoline, diesel and kerosene prices, with combined fines potentially reaching 4.63 trillion won ($3.45 billion). The antitrust regulator said Wednesday that it sent a review report to the two companies, formally launching deliberations over the alleged price-fixing case. The FTC said the alleged collusion lasted from February 2022, shortly before Russia's invasion of Ukraine, through March this year, shortly after the outbreak of the war in Iran. The case covers petroleum products that are essential to household and economic activity. Korea's oil refining industry is highly concentrated, with SK Energy, HD Hyundai Oilbank, GS Caltex and S-Oil accounting for about 98 percent of the domestic market. According to the FTC, SK Energy and HD Hyundai Oilbank exchanged information on the prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene, including provisional prices, final prices and sales policies. The regulator also determined that the two companies colluded on prices followin
Countries’ regulations on imported foods containing beef tallow pose a hurdle for Samyang Foods as the Korean instant noodle giant seeks to expand exports of its latest black bean sauce instant noodles, Charrr. The company has established Buldak as a massively popular product around the globe without using beef tallow, selling 10 billion units and generating cumulative sales of 7 trillion won ($5.2 billion) as of June. Unlike the spicy, brothless instant noodle brand, however, Charrr uses beef tallow as a key ingredient to give its sauce a rich, beefy flavor. Charrr is not Samyang’s first instant noodle product using beef tallow. The company launched Samyang 1963 in November last year with the ambitious goal of reviving the “forgotten” taste of its first instant noodle product, Samyang Ramen, which was introduced in 1963 and used beef tallow. Samyang Ramen, introduced by the late company founder Chun Joong-yoon to help feed a population suffering from widespread poverty at the time, remains a cornerstone of the company’s identity. Its use of beef tallow has now become part of
A growing number of customers affected by a string of recent personal data breaches at major commercial banks and other financial firms appear to be turning to class action lawsuits in pursuit of compensation, according to industry officials, Wednesday. The banks have pledged to fully compensate customers whose losses, including those from voice phishing scams, are found to have directly resulted from the leaks. But proving that a loss was caused by a specific data breach can be difficult in practice, and the banks have yet to set out clear standards for determining which claims would qualify, prompting some victims to resort to legal action. Seven financial firms have reported information leaks so far, including three of the country’s largest commercial lenders — Shinhan Bank, KB Kookmin Bank and Hana Bank. Shinhan reported the largest breach, affecting around 25,000 people, followed by 119 at KB Kookmin and 89 at Hana Bank. The exposed data includes customers’ names, contact details, resident registration numbers, annual income and loan limits. The combination of personal and fin
Korea’s home-developed Nuri rocket successfully carried out its mission in its fifth launch Wednesday, sequentially deploying 14 out of 15 satellites it carried into their target orbit. The key objective of the fifth launch was to safely deploy the five microsatellite constellations, and the success has demonstrated Korea's increased multi-satellite launch capabilities, taking another step toward privately led commercial launch services. The rocket lifted off from the launchpad at the Naro Space Center in Goheung, Jeonnam-Gwangju Special Metropolitan City, at 12:25 p.m. and completed its roughly 20-minute flight at around 12:45 p.m. The rocket separated its first stage about two minutes after liftoff, followed by the second stage about four and a half minutes into the flight. At around 12:40 p.m., it reached an altitude of 570 kilometers and completed the sequential deployment of five New-space Earth Observation Satellite Constellation for National Safety (NEONSAT) microsatellites (satellites No. 2 to 6), its primary payload, along with nine of the 10 CubeSats it carried. Initially, the Nuri sent signals indicating that all of the CubeSats had been successfully deployed. However, subsequent checks found that PERSAT02, developed by Quaternion, had failed to separate from the rocket. The flight ended at around 12:45 p.m. after the third stage completed its autopilot sequence. "The Nuri rocket successfully completed its planned fifth launch mis
