3G Shielding Specialties announced a no-charge engineering cross-reference service that matches competitor EMI gaskets, PCB shield cans, RF absorbers and thermal materials by specification, typically returning a matched equivalent the same business day with free 48-hour samples.
Oceanside, United States, October 18, 2026 -- 3G Shielding Specialties, a US manufacturer of EMI and RF shielding products since 1994, today announced a no-charge engineering cross-reference service that helps electronics teams find specification-matched equivalents for EMI gaskets, board-level shields, RF and microwave absorbers and thermal interface materials already designed into their products.
Design and procurement teams in aerospace, defense, medical, telecom and industrial electronics increasingly need a qualified second source for their shielding parts. Extended lead times, allocation on popular materials and discontinued product lines — such as the W.L. Gore GS2100, GS5200 and GS8000 conductive gasket materials — can leave a single gasket or shield can holding up an entire build. Switching suppliers has traditionally meant weeks of back-and-forth before a usable equivalent reaches the bench.

Under the new service, an engineer sends 3G the competitor part number, drawing or data sheet. 3G’s US-based applications engineers then match the part by specification rather than by trade name. For conductive elastomer gaskets that means the filler system, base polymer, durometer, profile and MIL-DTL-83528 type; for fabric-over-foam and wire-based gaskets, the construction, closure force and mating-surface compatibility; for PCB shield cans, the footprint, height, material, thickness and attachment method; and for absorbers, the frequency band and loss mechanism. A matched 3G equivalent is typically returned the same business day, and evaluation samples of standard materials ship free within 48 hours.
“Engineers don’t want a trade-name substitution that fails at the test lab — they want a part that drops into the design they already qualified,” said [Spokesperson Name], [Title] at 3G Shielding Specialties. “By matching on specification and putting a free sample on the bench in 48 hours, we can help a team add a qualified alternate in days instead of reopening an EMC test campaign.”
The service covers the main families of EMI shielding: conductive elastomer, fabric-over-foam, knitted wire, oriented wire, conductive foam and form-in-place gaskets under the WaveSeal line; one-piece, two-piece, off-the-shelf, multi-cavity and hybrid PCB shield cans under 3G MetalworX; Wavexorb cavity-resonance, narrowband, surface-wave and broadband absorbers; and Thermaworx thermal gap pads. To make the process transparent, 3G has published an EMI gasket cross-reference guide that maps widely used competitor product families — including those from Parker Chomerics, Laird, Tech-Etch, MAJR Products and W.L. Gore — to their 3G equivalents, together with new engineering guides to EMI shielding, RF shielding and PCB shield can selection.
Where a competitor part has no like-for-like 3G equivalent, the company’s engineers say so up front and recommend an engineering-reviewed alternative, so that buyers can make a decision with complete information.
Documentation support is part of the service. 3G Shielding Specialties is ITAR registered, JOSCAR registered and ISO 9001:2015 certified, and supplies certificates of conformance and material traceability on request to support customer requalification packages. Controlled drawings for defense programs are handled directly by its US-based team.
Engineers can submit a part number for cross-reference or request free samples at 3gshielding.com.

Only 17% of businesses in the Philippines have a roadmap for scaling artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting a gap between growing adoption of the technology and companies’ ability to integrate it more deeply into their operations. The finding comes from Unlocking the Philippines’ AI Potential 2026, a report commissioned by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and conducted
Securing equipment for manufacturing advanced memory chips is emerging as a new variable in Korea's plans to expand semiconductor production capacity through large-scale industrial clusters, after ASML, the dominant supplier of advanced chipmaking equipment, warned that its current production plans may not be sufficient to meet demand in 2027 and 2028. During its earnings call Wednesday, ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet said the company's plans to increase its production capacity for advanced chipmaking equipment by 30 percent in 2027 and another 30 percent in 2028 would likely not be enough to meet customer demand. “Last quarter, we talked about 30 percent more capacity next year, and also the aspiration to have another 30 percent increase in 2028,” Fouquet said. “But to be honest, it's becoming very clear that 30 percent in 2027, 30 percent in 2028 will not allow us to meet our customer demand.” According to the company, the planned capacity increases cover both low-numerical-aperture extreme ultraviolet (low-NA EUV) lithography equipment and deep ultraviolet (DUV) immersion system
Fashion platform Musinsa has teamed up with ZOZOTOWN, one of Japan's leading online fashion retailers, to open a pop-up store in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, a popular destination for young consumers. Musinsa opened the doors to ZOZOTOWN in Musinsa, the Japanese platform’s first official pop-up store in Korea, to the media on Friday. The pop-up will run through Oct. 31, while an accompanying online promotion will continue until Nov. 16. Launched in 2004, ZOZOTOWN features more than 11,000 brands and serving over 13 million customers annually. Fifteen Japanese fashion brands available on the platform, including Snidel and Grancy, are participating in the event. The pop-up’s concept, ZOZO is Coming to Town, draws inspiration from Korean streets. Crosswalks, road markings and oversized three-dimensional typography have been incorporated into the space to create the impression of an intersection where Korean and Japanese fashion meet. The pop-up follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two platforms in December 2024 to establish a strategic partnership. In November last y
China’s proposed export bans and controls of artificial intelligence technologies aim to tighten Beijing’s grip in the strategically vital sector, casting a cloud over the commercial prospects of domestic model developers in the global AI race, analysts say. The new measures come as concerns mount globally over the risks of advanced AI systems, following a string of recent cyberattacks, while also underscoring AI’s growing national security importance for both Beijing and Washington.
